The Lady Catamounts were 47 seconds away from their first ever region victory on Tuesday night, but ultimately came up just short in a hard fought battle. The Catamounts held the lead the entire game before falling behind in the final minute and losing to Etowah 11-10. An 11-10 final in a 6A region game is a vast improvement from where this team was two months ago, and the team is really clicking to end the season.
Mimi Young continued pouring in goals for the Lady Cats, finishing the night with 4 goals. Mimi has now recorded 3+ goals in five straight games for the Cats, bringing her season total to 34. Freshman Taylor Thompson had her best game since moving up from JV to Varsity earlier in the season, tallying 3 goals on the night. Ainsleigh Phelan added two more goals, while Laken Land finished with one.
Goalie Chloe Swaney had another terrific night in the cage for the Catamounts, finishing with 9 saves and surpassing the 100 save mark on the season!

The Lady Catamounts will bring their season to a close next week with games at GPS on Tuesday, and finishing at home next Friday night against Signal Mountain (Senior Night).
