Dalton Jumped out to a two goal lead on the Warriors of North Cobb and it appeared that the Catamounts would get their first region win. However, North Cobb would use a combination of ball control, face off wins, and excellent goalie play to dominate much of the first, second, and third quarters building a nine to four lead.
The Catamounts then found a spark that had been missing since the first quarter and rattled off four straight goals, putting them within one of the visiting Warriors. With all of the momentum on their side, Dalton was called for a slash, allowing North Cobb to settle themselves with a minute of extra man offense, and a goal. With a two goal deficit, the morale of the Dalton team collapsed. More penalties and another goal by North Cobb, put the game away.
The usual suspects had goals for the Catamounts, Senior Logan Cole,, Junior DJ Hutchinson, and Junior Jeremiah Defore. The surprise player of the night however was Adrian Garnica, starting only his second varsity game in place of injured JP Clark. Adrian showed great poise, and fundamentals as he often faced unguarded shooters at close range during fast break opportunities.
The Catamounts stay at home to face the defending region champion Allatoona Buccaneers on Tuesday night.
