After a tight first half, the Carrollton Trojans pulled ahead as the Catamounts ran out of steam. The first 15 minutes saw the lead switch three times, with the Trojans building a three goal lead partway through the second quarter. A pair of ejections for Carrollton allowed Dalton to cut the lead back to one.
The Trojans managed to score with 12 seconds remaining in the half while drawing a Catamount penalty. This allowed Carrollton to start the third quarter with the ball and a two goal lead. The second half saw Trojan’s superior depth take over the game.
Two new Dalton players were able to make contributions, Junior Defenseman Austin Burt and Freshman Aydan Betterton both saw plenty of action in their first varsity game. DJ Hutchinson and Logan Cole scored two goals each, with Henry Hansen, Jordan Torres, and Jeremiah Defore scoring once each. DJ Hutchinson and Abel Albor both found success facing off.
