Boys Varsity Football · Matt Land Resigns as DHS Head Football Coach


Dalton High School Head Football Coach Matt Land has announced his resignation as head football coach effective today. Coach Land has served for 11 years as head coach and 17 years as an assistant coach with the Dalton High School football program.

Dalton High School Principal Stephanie Hungerpiller said, “On behalf of Dalton High School, I would like to thank Coach Land for his years of dedication to our school and our community. He has worked hard to establish a long-standing tradition of excellence in our football program and helped mold many young men in our community. We will forever be grateful for his service to our student athletes and our school.”

“We are very thankful for the great job Matt has done and we wish him all the best in his future endeavors,” said Dr. Tim Scott, superintendent of Dalton Public Schools.

Land will continue to serve as an educator with the district.
