Catamounts News · Hannah Harris Takes Reigns of Lady Cat Basketball

Hannah (Mayo) Harris returns to Dalton High School to leady our Lady Cats Basketball Program.  We are proud to announce Coach Harris as our new head girls basketball coach.

Hannah Harris graduated from Dalton High School in 2008 where she was twice named to The Daily Citizen’s All-Area team. She helped lead the Lady Catamounts to a spot in the Sweet 16 in 2006 and a region championship in 2007.  After graduating from Dalton, Mayo signed with Reinhardt University where she was a member of the 2013 Appalachian Athletic Conference championship team and a NAIA tournament qualifier.  Her coaching career began as a graduate assistant at Reinhardt where she assisted in recruiting and leading fundamental camps. She also assisted with film breakdown and game planning. Her first high school coaching job came in 2013-14 when she was hired as junior varsity and assistant girls basketball coach at Roswell High School. She helped lead the Lady Hornets to a 21-9 record and a Sweet 16 appearance in the Georgia High School Association tournament before taking the job at Murray County High as an assistant coach.  She took over as head coach at Murray County High School in 2016.  We are excited about her taking the lead of the Lady Catamount program.  Hannah is married and has one child and is expecting another in July.  Hannah is excited about the opportunity to come back to Dalton High School, her alma mater.
