Coach Bill Napier passed away tonight at 8:50 PM. Earlier this evening, Coach Napier sent me one of his daily motivational Bible verses….“In your heart you plan your life. But the Lord decides where your steps will take you.”
Proverbs 16:9 NIRV.
For those of us fortunate to know him or even crossed his path, we will always consider him one of the greatest men we have ever known.
He loved his family! What an example for all of us, modeling the importance of making family a priority. What a legacy he has left behind in his wife and children.
Coach Napier treated everyone he worked and coached with as family. Time after time, I have watched him stop to take extra time to share, teach, or listen to others.
Over the past few years as he battled ALS, it was a blessing to watch opponents each week take the time to ensure Coach Napier had everything he needed. This display of love clearly defines just how special Coach Napier was to everyone he came into contact with each day.
Personally, he mentored me and my son. One of the greatest blessings my son received was being honored with the Coach Napier scholarship. A man with great battles personally still honored those who he felt did extra for the game. A truly unselfish man. Through his battle, he continued to send daily encouragement of scriptures and motivational quotes. Not missing a day, even his last one this side of heaven. He consistently showed true Godly love to those around him.
Today, his battle is over….he has truly won. I am sure our Lord is telling him “well done my good and faithful servant.”

PS Thank you Coach Napier for everything and thank you to his family for sharing him with us! You will forever be missed!
